- The proper name of this interfix in Sanskrit is तुक् (tuk).
- This is used compulsorily after the shorter vowels अ (a), इ (i), उ (u), ऋ (ṛ), ऌ (ḷ) and optionally after longer vowels आ (ā), ई (ī), ऊ (ū), ॠ (ṝ), ए (e), ऐ (ai), ओ (o), औ (au).
