[edit]From Middle Korean 로〮소〮ᅌᅵ다〮 (-lwóswóngìtá), through 로쇠 (-lwoswoy), ㄹ쇠 (-lswoy).[1] Ultimately a combination of Middle Korean suffixes 롯〮 (-lwós-, emotive suffix) + ᄋᆞ〮ᅌᅵ (-óngì-, politeness suffix) + 다〮 (tá, declarative suffix).
