-csél

  1. (frequentative suffix) Added to a verb to express the frequent repetition of an action. It appears only in a few words. Sometimes an -i- linking vowel is used for easier pronunciation.
    döng (to echo, boom) + ‎-csél → ‎döngicsél (to buzz (as a bee))

Usage notes[edit]

  • (frequentative suffix) Variants:
    -csál is added to back-vowel words
    -csél is added to front-vowel words
