Proto-Celtic
Etymology
From Proto-Indo-European *gʷṓws. Because of the way root nouns decline in Celtic, the original PIE accusative *gʷṓm and genitive *gʷéws were made obsolete, which would have otherwise yielded Celtic *bām and *bows respectively. Cognate with Latin bōs.
Noun
*bāus ?[1]
