From Middle Dutch cachtel, from earlier caftel, from Lua error in Module:parameters at line 360: Parameter 2 should be a valid language, etymology language or family code; the value "ONF." is not valid. See WT:LOL, WT:LOL/E and WT:LOF., from Medieval Latin capitāle (“young cattle”), from Classical Latin capitālis (“of the head”), from caput (“head”) + -alis (“-al”). Cognate with English cattle.
