English

Etymology

re- +‎ spade

Verb

respade (third-person singular simple present respades, present participle respading, simple past and past participle respaded)

  1. (transitive) To spade (turn over soil) again.
    • 1975, The American Rose (volume 23, page 16)
If unable to get the soil well mixed you may have to respade the turned soil before planting. The second spading will be much easier than the first.
