Sense "angel", inherited from Hellenistic Koine Greek ἄγγελος (ángelos, messenger), a semantic loan from Hebrew מַלְאָךְ (mal'ach, angel” or “messenger of God).
Sense "messanger", learnedly, from Ancient Greek ἄγγελος (ángelos).[1]
