- (pharmacology) A drug that functions as an SNRI and is administered orally chiefly in the form of its succinate C16H25NO2·C4H6O4·H2O or fumarate C16H25NO2·C4H4O4 especially to treat depression. It is the primary active metabolite of venlafaxine. Its succinate is marketed under the trademark Pristiq.
