TAIPEI COUNTY (NEW TAIPEI CITY) In many ways this county (新北市 Xīnběi Shì; https://web.archive.org/web/20101113010824/http://tour.tpc.gov.tw/), likely to be called New Taipei City by the time you read this, is the poor cousin of Taipei, but transport is good, and there are some real treats for nature and culture lovers once you get away from the urban sprawl.
