Proto-Germanic[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Usually assumed to have been a Lua error in Module:script_utilities at line 207: attempt to call global 'is_Latin_script' (a nil value), compare Old Irish líaig (healer). Kroonen suggests that if the original meaning was instead "blood-letter", then the word can definitely be linked to *lekaną (to leak), implying a Germanic origin instead.[1]

Pronunciation[edit]

Noun[edit]

*lēkijaz m

  1. doctor, physician
