Pronunciation of "the"[edit]

This article says that the definite article "the" is pronounced the same whether before a consonant or a vowel but this contradicts the word article of "the" that clearly has different pronunciations for the two cases. 210.86.1.151 05:38, 18 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

You are misunderstanding the page. It doesn't say anything about how to pronounce (deprecated template usage) the. It just says that the same word is used before both vowels and consonants (unlike a/an). —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 05:52, 18 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Strong / weak forms[edit]

Should a usage note be added with example of when the strong / weak forms are used? For example,

It is not just an /æn/ honor, it is the /ði:/ honor! '' JMGN (talk) 19:19, 13 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
