Delving further, and going off figure 27 which says it is a "Fechthandshuh" in German (fencing glove), I think much of the fencing equipment is specific to Mensur( see: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mensur_(Fechten)). I base this on the fact that this "glove" covers the hand, forearm and upper arm as well. Since Mensur involves the use of "live" blades rather than blunted weapons, this sort of protection would be necessary. Additionally, leather protection for the torso was also used, as is shown in this image (the man front, center-right): http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Y6CYsm8_5WI/UHdy04UAOZI/AAAAAAAAFzw/vQCl1tU4Sso/s1600/Mensur+100.jpg, which is similar to what we see in figure 26--padded protection with extra coverage for the throat and shoulders, as well as full arm protection. Given all this, I'd call 26 a "fencing chest protector", and likewise 27 a "fencing arm protector", as "fencing jacket" and "fencing glove" wouldn't really extend to this heavy-duty equipment.
