From arbën + -a f (the). Gheg variant of (Standard/Tosk/Arbëreshë) Albanian Arbëria (Albania). The old name of Albania until (around) the 18th century, when it inexplicably fell out of use in favour of Shqipëria. See arbën and shqip.
