Borrowed from Punjabi ਭੱਟੀ (bhaṭṭī). This surname is used mainly by a Jat, Gujjar Rajput tribe of Pakistani and Indian Punjab.

The caste is also called Rajput Bhatti. The people who belong to this caste are mainly based in "Pindi Bhattian" in Pakistan where "Association of Rajput Bhatti" and Some Gujjar Bhatti and Jat Bhatti is also based.
