Category:Old Armenian terms not in NHB

This category contains Old Armenian terms and senses not found in {{R:xcl:NHB}} (1836–1837), which with about 55000 headwords is the standard and most reliable dictionary of Old Armenian. It is also the only dictionary citing the passages where the word is attested. {{R:xcl:AB}} (1865) adds about 5000 more headwords gleaned from books and unpublished manuscripts, but being a pocket dictionary it does not cite the places of attestation. Since the publication of these dictionaries new Old Armenian texts have been discovered and published, containing words unknown to them. Some of the known texts have been corrected with new readings. Collecting the terms not included in {{R:xcl:NHB}} and identifying their place of attestation in literature is an important task in Old Armenian lexicography. {{R:xcl:Hovhannisyan:2010}} is dedicated to that task, but it is incomplete. Note that many additional terms found in {{R:xcl:Bedr}}, {{R:xcl:JB}}, {{R:xcl:PB}}, {{R:xcl:Kajuni}} are modern-age creations or ghost words and should not be included here.
