Reconstructed language?
[edit]It isn't entirely true that Illyrian is reconstructed. Most attestations are indirect, mostly personal names uses in texts written in otehr languages, but three words are directly attested in glosses: ῥίνος (rhínos, “fog, mist”), Δευάδαι (Deuádai, “satyrs”), and sabaia (“'a certain beverage'”).[1] For these at least the * shouldn't be required, I think. —caoimhinoc (talk) 15:06, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
- We treat those as words in their respective languages; the desinences certainly indicate that they are not simply a transcription of the Illyrian, but instead modified in the languages that borrowed them. I have modified your links to point to where those entries are or should be. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 16:28, 18 August 2021 (UTC)
