Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Dutch dek. Borrowed via (deprecated template usage) [etyl] German Low German Deck and hence with a plural in -s (Dutch uses dekken). The older Low German form is preserved in Verdeck. Cognate with English deck.
