[edit]Etymology
[edit]Based on hoo, an interjection of surprise, through its homonymy with hoo (“the letter H”), with Moilanen picked, seemingly arbitrarily, as a surname to construct a plausible name. Influence from houna (variant hoona) is also possible, insofar as it was interpreted as an essive singular form. Attested since the late 20th century; originally the expression was simply kuin hoo (attested since the early 20th century).

- When you see "new things" - that are in reality variations of great lies, you become astonished (literally: "a H Moilanen").

- Ovesta vasemmalle oli tyypillinen tapas -tiski, mutta en kehdannut, siis en todellakaan kehdannut mennä sen ääreen, vaan jäin keskelle ravintolaa seisomaan kuin H. Moilanen.
- Left of the door there was a typical tapas counter, but I didn't dare, and I mean I really couldn't dare to go to it, and I kept standing in the middle of the restaurant in astonishment (literally: "like a H. Moilanen").
