Etymology[edit]
Folk etymology states it comes from ụ̀ṣà (“pot”) + run (“to crumble”), literally “The place where the pots were destroyed”, perhaps referring to the many leftover potsherds that litter the town, a remnant of perhaps a culture of pottery in the area
