German
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Related to Danish Jylland, English Jutland.
Pronunciation
[edit]Proper noun
[edit]Jütland n (proper noun, strong, genitive Jütlands)
Usage notes
[edit]- In contemporary contexts, Jütland is restricted to the Danish portion of the peninsula (whose geographical boundary is debatable). There is no such thing as “German Jutland” in German (and Danish) understanding. In historical contexts, however, the now German portion may be included.
