From the Cornish form of the Welsh Gwenhwyfar, from gwen, meaning fair, white, and [g]hwyf[ar], meaning smooth; the Welsh equivalent of the Irish Fionnbharr, derived from Gaelic fionn (white, fair) and barr (head).
