[edit]From Luwian [script needed] (Kizzuwatna) possibly from Hittite [script needed] (kēz, “from here, on this side”) + Hittite 𒌓𒉈𒂊 (utnē, “land”), translating to the equivalent of "the land on this (to the) side".
