[edit]Borrowed from German Knollenorgan (literally “tuber organ”), from Knolle + -n- + Organ, because they resemble tubers.

- A tuberous electroreceptor organ found in the skin of weakly electric fish of the family Mormyridae from Africa, which is specialized for electrical communication.
