Etymology

From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Persian لنکران (lankarân), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Median *Lan(a)karan- (“the land of the Lan”). The Lan is probably a name of a Caspian tribe. See also Փայտակարան (Pʻaytakaran).
