ਸ਼[edit]

@AryamanA Is there a reason we transliterate ਸ਼ (śa) as "sha" instead of "śa"? -- Bhagadatta (talk) 08:41, 4 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The transliteration for ੜ doesn't seem to be working and it's also being transliterated at ḍ, which is wrong as it should be ṛ. Taimoorahmed11 (talk) 19:08, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed it but the cause of the problem is when Hindi speakers (?) don't seem to realise that Gurmukhi has a seperate ṛ sound and add a ਼ to ਡ, which even though turns it into ੜ, essentially becomes two different characters to make one and is different to ੜ (in Unicode). The problem arises when people aren't able to search for ਡ + ਼ (also ਡ਼) when searching with the actual 'ੜ'. Taimoorahmed11 (talk) 19:32, 7 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
