Old Assamese[edit]

@AryamanA, @DerekWinters Hi, the phonology of Middle Assamese (16th?-17th-18th) is different, it's more similar to modern Assamese, like /s/ to /x/, /h/ shifting. Msasag (talk) 05:40, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Msasag Okay! Can you give me a list of the changes? We can change it easily. DerekWinters (talk) 05:43, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DerekWinters I'm not sure about the new Sanskrit borrowings, but I think phonology of the the native and old Sanskrit borrowings is almost same as modern Assamese. Btw can we modify the transliteration module for modern Assamese too? Modern Standard Assamese doesn't have medial inherent vowel dropping for native and old borrowing solid words. And compound words, non-Sanskrit borrowings can have many patterns and can't be added in the module. Same for middle Assamese. Msasag (talk) 05:52, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Btw I think we should/can differentiate between retroflex and dental characters in middle Assamese. Msasag (talk) 05:55, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Wyang Hello, I think schwa-dropping is something you can handle better. @Msasag Can you add as many test cases for Middle and Modern Assamese as possible? DerekWinters (talk) 05:59, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@DerekWinters Ok Msasag (talk) 06:04, 2 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
