Singaporean Hokkien

[edit]

@The dog2 how is 一(蜀) pronounced in Singaporean Hokkien? -- 09:48, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

@沈澄心, should be chi̍t, like any other Hokkien? Why are you asking? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 14:34, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung I want to label the pronunciation on (like |mn=sg:chi̍t/sg:it), but I'm not familiar with Singaporean Hokkien. -- 14:47, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@沈澄心: ah, I see. Yes, chi̍t and it are used. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 17:56, 9 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
@沈澄心, Justinrleung: Both chi̍t and it are used in Singapore. Usually, as a cardinal number it's chi̍t, but in some cases in can be it too. For instance, $1.10 in Singapore Hokkien is kho͘-it (箍一), while the number 11 is cha̍p-it (十一). As an ordinal number, it's always it as in tē-it (第一). The dog2 (talk) 01:47, 10 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
