- 1840, Kanteletar:2:149 Kauro ei tule tupahan:
- Oi on Outi, sikkoseni!
Ken se tuo tulevi tuolta?
- 1990, Alli Hellström, Ja kuumat kivet putosivat, →ISBN, pages 20–21:
—Outi Allinoora.
Lapset puhkesivat räkättävään nauruun. Vanhus tirkisteli Outia hetken lasiensa takaa.
—Outo, outo, huusivat lapset ja nauroivat.
—Ei, vaan hyväntahtoinen, Outi on hyväntahtoinen, selitti lehtori.- Only years later did Outi get fascinated by her name. While still in school, the old lecturer Korpi still walked around those parts and would often stop to chat with children. They were particularly fascinated with how he could tell them what their names meant. Outi too one day gathered her courage to ask him about her name:
—Outi Allinoora.
The other children burst into a racket. The old man peeked at Outi for a moment behind his glasses.
—outo (“strange”), outo (“strange”), the children yelled and laughed.
—No, benevolent, Outi is benevolent, the lecturer explained.
