Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic пѣсъчана (pěsŭčana), feminine of пѣсъчанъ (pěsŭčanŭ, sandy), from пѣсъкъ (pěsŭkŭ, sand) +‎ -ьнъ (-ĭnŭ), from Proto-Slavic *pěsъkъ. Doublet of Peșteana.
