Reconstruction:Proto-Finnic/mürkkü
Proto-Finnic
Etymology
Unclear. Has been compared with Hungarian méreg (“poison”) and Proto-Germanic *markiją (“celery”), both assuming Finnic-internal development from earlier Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. (compare Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E.). The first comparison suffers from additional phonetic problems,[1], the second from semantic ones.[2] Alternately, Finnic-internal derivation from a root Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. seen in Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. and Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. has been suggested,[3] though no suffix Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E. exists. If Finnish dialectal myrkkä (“smell”) is also related,[1][2] the immediate derivation would be Lua error in Module:parameters at line 348: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "fiu-fin-pro" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E..
