Etymology[edit]

From *h₃rinéHti (move), an infixed form of *h₃rey(H)-, ultimately from the root *h₃er- (to rise, move, stir). Related to *rina (cloud(s)) (modern re (cloud(s))), Proto-Slavic *rinǫti (to push, shove), Aeolic Greek ὀρῑ́νω (orī́nō, to move).[1]
