From Proto-Celtic *kriɸmos, from *kriɸ- (“body”) (whence also Middle Irish crí) +‎ *-mos, from Proto-Indo-European *krep- (“body”) (compare Latin corpus (“body”), Old English hrif (“belly, womb”) (modern English riff), and Sanskrit कृप् (kṛ́p, “form, shape”)).[1] Doublet of *korf.
