From Proto-Indo-Iranian *Hsućráwās. Equivalent to *Hhu- (“good”) +‎ *cráwah (“fame”). Cognate with Vedic Sanskrit सुश्रवस् (suśrávas, “famous”), Ancient Greek Εὐκλῆς (Euklês).
