Etymology

Also compared to Azerbaijani üfləmək (“to blow”), Gagauz üflemää (“to blow”), Turkish and Turkmen üflemek (“to blow”); Azerbaijani üfürmək (“to blow”), Turkish üfürmek (“to blow”) from Ottoman Turkish اورمك (üvürmek). However, this can also be descended from another roots such as Proto-Oghuz *übür- and *üble- (<*üb for both). If they are related, *übür- and *ǖr- are doublets.
