Proto-Uralic[edit]

Reconstruction[edit]

The word can only be reliably reconstructed to Finno-Samic/Western Uralic. Hungarian szép is not a certain descendant due to the semantic gap, and an alternative Turkic etymology for it has also been proposed.[1]

Adjective[edit]
