@Mnemosientje: I tried but I couldn’t find much about the Spanish one in the Internet. The Spanish Wiktionary page of tasugo is red so it didn't really help me that much. In my opinion it looks completely plausible that it derives from *𐌸𐌰𐌷𐍃𐌿𐌺𐍃 (*þahsuks) instead of taxus. I went and tried to apply Spanish phonetic changes and the result seem positive, so my conclusion is that it really drives from the Gothic form.
