Compare Fox tâpô- (side-by-side) to Mi'kmaq tepaw (handy, nearby) (i.e. at one's side), however. If the Fox term were cognate to that word and not ta'pu (two), the Mi'kmaq term could be an isolated innovation and the existence of this root could be placed in doubt (though the Cree and Mahican terms for "seven" would still need to be accounted for somehow). - -sche (discuss) 06:54, 23 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
