Diachronic shift from an adjective to a noun?
[edit]How should we treat this one? Originally, it seems to be an adjective and is used in this way in some dialects (for example, according to ESSJa, in Western Ukrainian). Nonetheless, it has been reanalyzed into a noun in later times. So should we reconstruct a noun or an adjective (or both)? Bezimenen (talk) 13:02, 14 February 2019 (UTC)
Color?
[edit]Per Sławski meaning for bagrъ/bagra is "purple" (purpura/purpurowy) and all descendants he mentions have that meanining, minus Serbo-Croatian bàgra first meaning being "red dye", second "purple". ESSJa also gives a lot of "purple" examples. Same with related words, like Lower Sorbian bahorowy and others. We should probably change meaning to "purple" instead of " crimson, scarlet"?
