Etymology[edit]

Borrowed from Nepali शाक्य (śākya), from Sanskrit शाक्य (śākya), which is most likely from Sanskrit शक् (śak, to be able). Alternatively, from Sanskrit शाखा (śākhā, branch, teak); see Shakya for more.

Shakya (plural Shakyas)
