Why does the etymology on this page point to itself? It seems to me likely that O.N. þó derives from P.Gmc. *þauh — does anyone know for sure? If not then perhaps there shouldn't be an etymology section at all.

It doesn't really. The Icelandic word þó has an etymology pointing to the Old Norse word þó, which is a true etymology though rather meagre. It happens that there is no entry on Wiktionary yet for this Old Norse word, and as it happens to be spelt the same way as the other, it would also be on this page if it existed. So really the etymology is pointing to an as-yet non-existent different place on the same page. --Hiztegilari (talk) 13:40, 17 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
