(Notifying Atitarev, Cinemantique, Useigor, Wanjuscha, Wikitiki89, Stephen G. Brown, Per utramque cavernam, Guldrelokk, Fay Freak, Tetromino): Can someone help me with this? User:Vahagn Petrosyan created it. It appears to have a specific meaning in Russian law (see the corresponding ruwiki entry), but (a) is that enough to make it not SOP? (b) is defn #1 "industrial standard, production piece" correct, and is there a better way to phrase this? I don't completely understand what is being referenced here by defn #1. • @Benwing2: Definition 1 is the literal SOP definition. Definition 2 is definitely non-SOP; it is a very specific category of intellectual property in Russian law which is somewhat similar to a registered design in Canadian law or a design patent in US law, and you cannot guess what it entails by looking the literal meaning of the two words. I would maybe phrase definition 2 as "industrial design (as an object of intellectual property law)", because the phrase "intellectual design right" IMHO refers to the concept of protecting such intellectual property, while промышленный образец refers to a specific item of intellectual property that may (or in some cases may not) be deserving of protection.
