@Vahagn Petrosyan : What about the form "Դեվեջյան" listed by T. Avetisyan? Chalk19 (talk) 08:48, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Chalk19:, he has ԴԵՎԵՋՅԱՆ, capitalized from Դևեջյան. The capital of և is ԵՎ. Vahag (talk) 12:00, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Vahagn Petrosyan. Thanx. Btw, in an official document of the Republic of Cyprus listing the family names of all the poeple who where born on the island since the begining of the 19th century, I have found many "strange" looking Armenian surnames. All of them come from the colonian times, and are obviously translitarations from English. Most of these forms seem to not exist as such anymore, probably because in the meantime they change the spelling to meet the "normal" forms, as they exist in Greece (or the surname holders moved abroad long ago). The problem is that for some of these surnames I cannot find their origin. For example, Γερασσαγιάν (Gerassagian, Yerassagian), Καραπεικιάν (Karapeikian -I found just a guy called Timothy Karapeik in the York, Pennsylvania City Directory of 1993). As far as Γεωζουκουχουκιάν (Geozoukouchukian) and Κερκυασιαριάν (Kerkyasiarian) is concerned, I believe that the former must be from either Գյուզիքուչուկյան or Գյուզուքուչիկյան, and the latter from Քիրքշարյան -there is at least one person living in Australian called Kerkyasharian (somethimes misspelled Kerkyashiarian). I would appreciate your thoughts and cooments. Thanks in advance, and sorry for bothering you and reaching out again. Chalk19 (talk) 12:58, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Chalk19: I like rebuses. I couldn't solve the first one. The other three are Կարաբեկյան (Karabekyan), Կյոզյուքյուչյուքյան (Kyozyukʻyučʻyukʻyan), Կրկյաշարյան (Krkyašaryan). Vahag (talk) 19:06, 2 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
