etymology

Unfortunately, *m̥bʰos does not explain the form of ամպ. Although the semantic match to PIE *nebʰos is very attractive, there seems to be no other case of *mbʰ > mp, neither for PArm. *mbʰr > *mbr that Martirosyan suggests for ամպրոպ. It might be useful to add a specification of a kind “Often derived from *m̥bʰos despite formal difficulties.” Fortecis (talk) 15:29, 6 October 2019 (UTC)
