@Иованъ, the Northeast Caucasian words must be entered in their native script, Cyrillic. Also, what is this horticultural excursus about? How does it relate to the etymology. Vahag (talk) 10:53, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I can change the script (was relying on Starostin). Since a term for wild apple is unlikely to have been borrowed, the domesticate's path of spread is relevant in discriminating between a direct Dagestani > Hurrian and an indirect Unknown > (Dagestani, Hurrian) origin. It is exactly what we need. I thought that Malus domestica hails from Malus sieversii, now I learn about it containing Malus orientalis. It is artful to teach people things that they didn’t seek to know. Fay Freak (talk) 19:23, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
İ still don't know how this is relevant for the immediate origin of the Armenian term but I'll let the information stay because it looks like we're saying Armenians invented apples. Vahag (talk) 20:09, 20 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
