@AryamanA {{calque}} or {{semantic loan}} has to be used, innit? Because this is not a way of expression that naturally appears in a language. There is no corresponding expression in German or Russian. I have found some شَرِيط أَحْمَر (šarīṭ ʔaḥmar) and it’s not that common. The Online Etymology Dictionary says the expression is from the colonies. Would {{&lit}} be appropriate here? If the SoP expression is rare, it could point to a calque. @Palaestrator verborum: Actually, this is not an unusual construction in Hindi. Compare Hindi नादिरशाही (nādirśāhī, “tyranny”, literally “characteristic of Nader Shah”) (which is quite an old world) and हिटलरशाही (hiṭlarśāhī, “tyranny, genocide, etc.”, literally “characteristic of the rule of Hitler”). I think that लालफ़ीता (lālfītā, “red tape”) is definitely a calque though. —Aryaman^{A (मुझसे बात करें • योगदान)} 15:30, 10 December 2017 (UTC)
