@DerekWinters: From Macdonell and Capeller, दावानल is a Sanskrit word that has been borrowed into Gujarati, Marathi and Hindi. The Marathi borrowing would be दावानल or दावानळ, and दावानल appears to be the more common spelling. (However, वणवा is the more common term.) The Hindi borrowing is दावानल. दवानल and दावानिल appear to be alternative Sanskrit forms. Kutchkutch (talk) 02:29, 13 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
