Because president-elect means something more than just someone who has been elected president. More concretely, it means a future president who is in the transition process (such as appointing cabinet/government members and announcing important policy decisions) on the way of assuming power and becoming president. --Reordcraeft (talk) 16:10, 20 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
