Plurale tantum like this one or highs and lows in translations? There is a "ups and downs" page in this wiki. Flāvidus (talk) 01:45, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Flāvidus: Which language's entry are you asking about? ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 17:29, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Eirikr: Thanks for asking. In Chinese 上下 translations there's up and down, but no wiki entry. What is your opinion on "ups and downs" as a translation for 上下

In Japanese it is already mentioned as good times and bad times, thick and thin, which is synonym/near synonym to "ups and downs". I was thinking about gathering couple of discussion pages say, on Chinese, and ask in the Tea room. If you don't mind, I may ping you there in other occassions. @Flāvidus: I'm not that up on Chinese, so I can't really help much there. You're right about the Japanese, specifically the agesage reading -- I've added ups and downs to the gloss for that. Cheers, ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 05:48, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
