Meaning of the 山 in 嶝[edit]

I think that in the case of the Dadeng Islands, the 山 in 嶝 may have been referring to an island instead of a mountain. The islands on the Fujian coast are usually called XX山 or X山 (at least historically), for instance 馬祖山. The character may have originated in different places at different times too, with different content behind the 山 component. --Geographyinitiative (talk) 04:06, 2 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
