Pronunciation of 形夭

I want to mention that I specifically asked about the pronunciation of the 形夭 variant of 刑天 and I was specifically told that although the character 夭 is being used in the variant form 形夭, the pronunciation 依然 remains Xíngtiān. I was specifically told that the pronunciation does not become Xíngyāo even though the character 夭 is being used. It is hard to determine the original pronunciation of this compound word unless a copy of Shanhaijing can be obtained from an archaeological dig in a Han dynasty tomb.
